Arkansans travel to Kansas City for Super Bowl rematch

Arrowhead Stadium was host to the biggest NFL game of the regular season. The Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles Monday night in a highly anticipated rematch, and several Arkansans have had this game on their calendars since the NFL schedules were released in May. Justin and Reanna Daniels are from Fort Smith. They say they cheer on the Razorbacks together but when it comes to the Kelce Bowl, it’s a house divided. “This is the most anticipated game of the year by far,” said Justin. “Super Bowl rematch in Arrowhead Stadium, you can’t get no better than this.”Even though the game is in Chiefs Kingdom, Eagles fans flocked to Kansas City for the Super Bowl sequel. Susan and Dean Kristiniak are Eagles fans living in Rogers and attended the game. “The Eagles fan show up. You’re going to hear a lot of noise in there tonight, a lot of screams,” said Susan. “There’s going to be a lot of Eagles chants for sure.”Dean says they’re fans of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid because of his Philadelphia connection but, “the fact that they got cheated out of the game last year” has him rooting for redemption in enemy territory. Regardless of who wins, this is bound to be memorable for some fans attending their first NFL game. “It’s pretty cool too for this to be my first game and I brought my daughter,” said Fort Smith native Jasmine Williams. “So, it’s always amazing to watch these experiences”.
