Crews battling a massive blaze that has engulfed several buildings along Scituate coast – Boston 25 News

SCITUATE, Mass. – Firefighters are responding to a multi-alarm fire near Minot Beach in Scituate Friday night. Five houses on Glades Road show thick smoke and flames coming from the roof and sides.

According to the first responders, the crews are having serious problems with the water supply. In addition to water supply problems, fire boats cannot reach the fire due to rocks along the coast and low tide.

Fire crews from several surrounding towns are assisting.

The Department of Fire Services deployed a rehabilitation unit to support personnel at the scene, and State Police fire investigators assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal are responding to support Scituate FD investigators.

Residents should expect potential power outages as well as water-related issues (pressure and discoloration) as a result, according to Scituate Police.

So far, there are no reports of injuries. No more information.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
