Microsoft has confirmed that seven games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass subscription service until the end of March. Xbox Game Pass subscribers interested in playing these seven games at no extra cost must do so before the start of April 2023.
Xbox Game Pass receives new additions every month, including new first-party releases from Xbox Game Studios and recent third-party releases. So far, six days of Xbox Game Pass editions have already been confirmed for April 2023. One of these new Xbox Game Pass editions includes Ghostwire: Tokyo, a former PlayStation 5 console exclusive from Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks. However, various games will leave the service by the end of the month to make way for new releases.
Microsoft has shared an update with Xbox Game Pass subscribers via the Xbox app, revealing that seven PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S games are leaving the service soon. These seven games are Memoir Blue, Chinatown Detective Agency, Clustertruck, Double Dragon Neon, Kraken Academy!!, MLB The Show 22and Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid. These games are expected to leave Xbox Game Pass by March 31, but the exact time of their removal may vary slightly depending on the title.
When games are removed from Xbox Game Pass, the game must be purchased to continue playing. Fortunately, the save data from the game remains intact, so players can pick up where they left off after purchasing the game. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can get at least 20% off these select titles before it’s removed. Members can also expect a direct replacement for one of the games that is also being removed from Xbox Game Pass.
MLB The Show 23 will be available on release day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, so removal is possible MLB The Show 22 before March 28 was expected. Gamers still have roughly two weeks to check out the other six titles before the new lineup of games arrives on Xbox Game Pass in the coming weeks.
Microsoft will likely continue to notify subscribers before an Xbox Game Pass title is removed from the service. PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S games can be returned Xbox Game Pass in the future, and discounts may soften the blow of losing access to certain games. Microsoft is expected to reveal more games coming to Xbox Game Pass as the second half of March 2023 draws to a close.
