Valspar leader's wife has whirlwind travel morning to get to Tampa

Adam Schlenk’s wife, Kourtney, described her wild morning on the road.

Adam Schenck’s Herculean schedule, in which he hasn’t taken a week off the PGA Tour since the first week of January, means he’s spent a lot of time away from his wife Kourtney this season.

But as he revealed on Friday, it’s for good reason, as Kourtney is eight months pregnant with the couple’s first child. She plans to take a lot of time off once the baby is born.

But with Adam entering Sunday’s final round of the Valspar Championship with a one-shot lead, seeking his first PGA Tour win, he wanted his wife to be with him.

Adam Schenk of the United States makes a putt on the tenth green during the third round of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on March 18, 2023 in Palm Harbor, Florida.

The leader of Valspar is in a superhuman streak – for reasons that warm

“We were working on the kindergarten while he was playing. So it was a good distraction,” Kourtney Cara Banks told NBC Sports. “And then he called me and said, ‘Okay, so when are you coming here tomorrow?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, really early because that’s my only option.'”

She said she woke up at 2 a.m. to get to the airport, then went into her husband’s hotel room as soon as he woke up. And then, as any good husband should, Adam made her breakfast.

Not only did Kourtney make it to Tampa in time for Sunday’s final round, but she also walked the runway with Adam — while 8 months pregnant.

“I feel good. That’s why I decided to go out and walk at the age of 18,” she said.

She told Banks she couldn’t think of passing up the potential for Adam’s first win no matter the situation. She also wasn’t surprised by his acting. Adam is coming off one of his best seasons on the PGA Tour in his sixth season on Tour, ranking 72nd in the FedEx Cup standings coming into the week. He was just birding the hatch when Banks caught up with Kourtney.

“He always has that in him,” Kourtney said. “He’s been in this position a few times, but I think we have a little bit of a different perspective right now, so it’s fun to watch.”
