PRIDE NIGHT IN THE TANK
Sharks goaltender James Reimer refused to participate in warmups as San Jose hosted its annual Pride night. Reimer and the Sharks released statements regarding the goaltender’s decision not to wear the rainbow Pride warm-up jersey.
“In this particular case, I choose not to support something that conflicts with my personal beliefs, which are based on the Bible, the highest authority in my life,” Reimer’s statement read.
The San Jose Sharks have said they will continue to support the LGBTQIA+ community, but accept every player’s right to express their beliefs.
