The League of Legends trend has players trying to figure out how to kill Drake in the fastest time possible, and a group of clever legends have found a way to accomplish the goal in less than half a second.

Drake is an incredibly important target when trying to find a lead in the average League of Legends match. That’s a big part of why pro players have resorted to building double ADC bot lanes for pressure, and why bot lane is so influential when it comes to who wins and who loses in the current meta.

However, it is easier said than done. Killing can take time, and the target could easily be stolen by an enemy jungler if you’re not careful.

League of Legends players have taken advantage of theoretical ways to quickly kill Drake the moment he spawns with only the items and levels they would have in the early game when he spawns. With over 160 champions in the game, finding the right combination of abilities to kill Drake the fastest took some time.

The fastest time ever saw players clear the finish line by less than half a second.

When most people think of speedrunning, they think of single-player titles that have optimized speedrunning through their single-player campaigns, with different categories mixing up running in different ways.

However, speedruns exist in some multiplayer games. League of Legends is one such game, with players forming small communities based on theory to devise the best ways to complete tasks or objectives in the game in the shortest possible time.

League of Legends players on the LoL subreddit have been busy cooking up methods to kill Drake as quickly as possible, with the best run making the poor wyvern evaporate.

There are a few little things you might not notice on first viewing here. Sion’s Q, Nunu’s Q, and Udyr’s Enhanced Q doing a ton of single target damage is nothing new or complex. However, in Jhin and Syndra comes the real ingenuity for this race.

Jhin placed as many traps as possible under Drake for extra damage and saved his passive bonus damage from the fourth shot to hit him when he’s low. However, these traps take some time to trigger and extend their run under normal circumstances. Here comes Syndra.

Observers initially thought that she had missed her ability by throwing River Scuttler into the pit before Drake spawned, but then players realized that these runners had thus caused Jhin’s traps to activate at the exact time they needed.

Whether or not this is the most optimized way to finish this run is not yet known, but a final time of 0.485 seconds will be hard to beat.
