Sidhu Moosewala’s first death anniversary event today

The family of slain singer Sidhu Moosewal has decided to mark his first death anniversary on March 19. Fans of the singer, who was killed last year, are expected to turn out in large numbers in Moosewala village on Sunday. Political leaders, including those from Congress, are expected to attend the event.

Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh announced the gathering, known as ‘barsi’, through a video on social media. According to reports, the event will be held at the new market in Mansa. Meanwhile, the Mansa district authorities and the police are on high alert and security arrangements are in place, considering the fact that Balkaur has also received death threats.

Deputy Commissioner Baldeep Kaur announced a ban on flying drones near the venue. Police personnel from other districts were also brought in to ensure elaborate security arrangements.

Mumbai Central Railway will operate the mega block today

Central Railway, Mumbai Division will today operate Mega Block on its suburban section for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works on its main line. Slow services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.48 am to 3.40 pm will be diverted to fast line Dn between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai and Vidyavihar stations with stops at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and re Kurla stations and further diverted on the real Dn slow line.

But the Mega Block will not operate on the Harbor Line between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Panvel.

IMD has predicted moderate rainfall in Kerala today

A weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted isolated moderate showers across Kerala, except Kannur and Kasaragod, today. Although the weather remained mostly dry on Saturday, isolated showers are expected on Sunday and Monday, triggered by a ridge extending from southern Tamil Nadu to northern Konkan over coastal and interior Karnataka and Goa.

The weather forecast also warns of above normal summer rain over Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep during the last week of March.
