The Game
The Murray State women’s basketball team travels to Alabama A&M Saturday in search of its first road win of the young season. Tip-off from the brand-new AAMU Events Center in Normal is scheduled for Noon.

Series At A Glance
The Racers are 9-4 all-time against Alabama A&M and are 3-3 in Normal. The Racers snapped a two-game skid to the Bulldogs last season with a 66-40 win in Murray. Murray State last played at Alabama A&M during Rachelle Turner‘s first season with the Racers in 2017-18. The Bulldogs won that meeting, 71-54, in what would be Murray State’s last visit to historic TM Elmore Gymnasium.

Scouting The Bulldogs
The Bulldogs enter Saturday’s contest at 0-4 on the season after falling, 66-48, Tuesday night at North Alabama in Florence.

Through four games, Alabama A&M is averaging 55.5 points per game on 32.2-percent shooting, while their opponents are scoring 75.8 points per game on 48.0-percent shooting.

Toni Grace currently leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 11.5 points per game, with Taylor Smith following at 10.0 points per game. On the boards, Amani Free leads the way for Alabama A&M with 5.3 rebounds, with Jayla Cody and Darian Burgin following at 4.8 and 4.5, respectively.

And Win Would…
A win Saturday would give Murray State back-to-back wins for the first time this season, as well as its first road win of the new year.

Doing Work At The Line
Murray State currently boasts two of the best active free throw shooters in Division I, based on career percentage. Macey Turley is currently second among active players with a career free throw percentage of 88.9, while Katelyn Young is seventh at 86.0.

Accepting New Members?
With two current Racers (Macey Turley & Katelyn Young) already members, the Murray State 1,000-Point Club could soon be expanding by. Alexis Burpo currently has 908 career points and needs just 92 to become the 22nd Racers to join the elite club.

Serve & Protect
Murray State currently ranks second in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.04 with 17.7 assists per game, compared to just 8.7 turnovers per game. Colorado State currently leads the nation in the category at 2.46.

That New Gym Smell
After nearly 50 seasons at TM Elmore Gymnasium, Alabama A&M will begin a new era Saturday. After saying goodbye to Elmore Nov. 17 against Samford, the Bulldogs will play their first game in the new AMMU Event Center against the Racers Saturday.
