IMD Issues Yellow Alert In Delhi-NCR

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Saturday in Delhi-NCR, cautioning people about moderate rain at most places in Delhi while heavy rains are expected at a couple of locations.

Classes up to 8 will remain suspended in all government and private schools in Noida and Greater Noida due to rains, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration announced on Friday.

Incessant rains lashed parts of the national capital for the third consecutive day on Friday, bringing down the maximum temperature to 27.6 degrees Celsius — seven notches below normal.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. The relative humidity oscillated between 100 percent and 95 percent, the IMD said.

Traffic jams were reported at several key stretches in the national capital due to waterlogging caused by rains.
